Alonsotegi - Pagasarri

The route starts in the municipality of Alonsotegi, located on the border with Bilbao. On the Town Hall Square, we will follow the sign that marks the start of the climb to Pagasarri, one of the mythical summits of Biscay. There are several routes, but we follow the trail that will take us to Fontaine d'Or.

The route runs along forest paths surrounded by pine forests. Depending on the time of year, leaf litter can be a nice challenge. Along the way, we will have the opportunity to enjoy a magnificent environment and observe mountain wildlife in complete freedom.

Before reaching the summit, we will observe a set of 17th century snow fridges, then an exceptional food preservative. The views are unbeatable and invite you to make the ascent with confidence, but if we continue, we will soon have crowned Pagasarri to enjoy one of the best viewpoints in Biscay: on one side, Bilbao, with its emblematic sites; on the other, Enkarterri.
