The route starts in Balmaseda, the oldest city in Biscay, and continues to Artziniega (Araba) between impossible turns and the most bucolic scenery. From there, we will reach Gordexola, in Biscay, following a route dotted with hamlets, luxurious Indian houses and tower houses dating from the Middle Ages.
The Sodupe district (Güeñes) will be our next destination. Following the course of the Kadagua River, we will reach Alonsotegi, one of the steepest places in Biscay, located at the foot of the mythical mountains of Ganekogorta and Pagasarri.
Here, we say goodbye briefly to Enkarterri and cross Bilbao with its famous Guggenheim Museum. From there, we return heading back to Sodupe, where making a detour to head to the central core of Güeñes, then to Zalla.
In the Otxaran district, next to the largest txakoli vineyard in the Basque Country and, after a few more kilometers, we return to our starting point and will have cycled 75 km of the route.
