The Balgerri beech forest is the largest in Biscay. It is located on the foothills of Mount Balgerri, in the Sierra de Ordunte, and undoubtedly one of the treasures of the Karrantza landscape.
This itinerary starts in the Lanzas Agudas neighborhood. By car to the highest part of the city, where the rural hotel Gailurretan is located. This is where our hike starts.
The first part of the route is a gradual ascent, leaving the Lanzas Agudas district on our left and offering panoramic views of the valley. Once we have covered the first 1.8 km, we will have reached the beech forest. From here on, the entire trail is flat and easy to walk on foot. Around us, there will be majestic beech trees, waterfalls crossing the beech forest, and the whisper of the wind
Note: Once we've seen Waterfall 4, we'll turn around and return along the same trail.
