The itinerary (available in long and short versions, in this case starting from La Arboleda) takes us to the former mining heart of Biscay. The exploitation of the mineral deposits of Enkarterri has created the breathtaking panoramas that shape the landscapes of Meatzaldea. The last mines closed their doors decades ago, but their echoes still resonate in the Montes de Triano. This is where the toned cry to celebrate Athletic's victories was born: Aliron! The miners thus celebrated in front of their English employers the extraction of pure iron “all iron”, which meant extra pay. Sites, loading docks, shafts, and other centuries-old remains will appear everywhere on our itineraries, which will begin next to the impressive court of the former Concha II mine.
