We recommend following this route only to experienced hikers or those with excellent sports skills and who know the mountains, because of its distance and its cumulative slope.
We will leave the historic center of Lanestosa by road, following the course of the river to Calera del Prado. Once we arrive, we will head to the Prado to reach the famous Puerto de Los Tornos, from where we will see the first and main objective of this great itinerary: Mount Zalama, the third colossus of Biscay.
We will climb gradually until we reach it and enjoy the impressive views, before starting to descend, respecting and surrounding the peatlands that are there.
After crossing La Mana and Mirón, we will branch off at Peñalta towards the Saltipiña region, where we will reach Arroturas. From there, we will head to Cotobasero and reach the Ubal Road, where we will safely descend until we reach the historic center of Lanestosa again, after a true mountain adventure.
