Great route to discover the surroundings of Gordexola and its natural and architectural heritage, such as Indian houses, palaces or medieval towers between forests and trails, surrounded by nature. The route is considered medium-high because of the odd high slope and a small technical section for unaccustomed walkers, although without difficulty or risk.
Starting and arriving at Plaza Molinar, we will head towards the Herrerias River, passing through the Gordojona Palace and the tower-house of Ibargüen in Pontón, before starting the ascent to Bikirrio via the GR123 towards Iratzagorria.
Combining trails, mostly with tracks between pine, oak and the occasional eucalyptus forest, we will enjoy a progressive climb to the final part, where a vertical path will leave us almost at 671 m of the monolith that crowns the peak of Bikirrio.
Returning a few meters, we will take a path along which we will descend to the Beraskola neighborhood before reaching the center of Gordexola again along the Roman road of Zubiete.
At this point, you will have the possibility to end the route or to continue to the north, on a beautiful trail route to the San Cosme area before returning again to Plaza de Molinar and ending the route.
