Vía Verde - ferrerías

Circular route starting and ending at the Centro de Información de la Vía Verde de los Montes de Hierro (Centre d'Information de la Voie Verte), located next to the Polígono Industrial La Aceña (industrial area) (Galdames).

The itinerary is perfect to enjoy a relaxing hiking day. It consists of two completely different sections. The first runs along a section of the Green Way through two of its most famous tunnels, until access to the forge in El Pobal (Muskiz). You will descend through pine forests, without reaching the forge itself. Even so, we recommend to turn aside the track to visit it, because it is absolutely worth it.

Before reaching Barbadún, we turn left to access a beautiful path, leaving the river bank on our right, on what is called the Route de la Ferrería (Forge route). In this section, you will have the opportunity to view several forges, mills, and other industrial remains located on the banks of the river itself, some of which date back more than five centuries.

To complete the route, simply connect the Greenway again with a small insertion in the neighboring Sodoor and return to the starting point.
