Ruta Kolitza - Negra

This demanding route takes us to the summit of Mount Kolitza surrounding the valley formed by the Kolitza stream. We will head south from Balmaseda, to take a track on the right side of Las Balugas soccer field. We will zigzag to a higher altitude around the southern slope of Mount Saugal and gradually head towards the famous Mount Kolitza. We will continue along the mountain range until the last ascent, zigzagging again to reach the summit of 879 m. At the summit, we will pause to enjoy the magnificent view and view the Romanesque hermitage of San Sebastián de Kolitza. We will start the descent to Mount Ginea and from there to Pandozales, then we're almost in Balmaseda.
